Shep Learns A Lesson
"Shep Learns A Lesson" came to life as a passion project when my first rescue dog, Chevy, passed away. As I was brainstorming ways to hold onto the precious memories with Chevy, writing a book became the perfect answer! Throughout the story, four dogs navigate through big emotions and even an injury, and figure out how to become friends through courage, kindness, empathy and facing their fears.

School Visit Highlights
On a recent visit to The Webb School of Knoxville, lower school students had the opportunity to learn about the writing process: such as how to find the creative spark inside all of us, writing, editing, illustrating and publishing. Smiles and cheers ensued when the children learned that “Shep Learns A Lesson” was inspired by my first rescue dog, Chevy.
